An "Industrial Garden" at Harborview!
Coyote's Summer 2007 Hit the Streets project was an Industrial Garden for the View Park at Harborview Medical Center. Twenty-four underserved youth worked with Liza vonRosenstiel, Mark Fessler, Angelena McQuarter and Brent McDonald through the month of July to create 24 "flowers" that distill the Art Deco imagery of Harborview's western facade. The kids worked with recycled wood, metal, tubing, hardware, and wire, but what brought the flowers to life was their creative inspiration and iingenuity. The installation was celebrated by all on July 23rd and will be on display through September. Watch for the flowers to sprout elsewhere around town in the months to come!
