Work with a professional actor to build your acting skills through training exercises such as improvisation, theater games, and selected scene work - the same paces for actors in professional training! Theater will come alive as you develop your own characters in space & time. On the last day, you'll perform works created in collaboration with your fellow actors. In our woodshop you'll work off of tried and true construction plans to build a chicken coop for your own back yard and big enough for 2 or 3 chickens! You'll work from a basic design (selected for their simplicity, aesthetics, durability, and joy of chicken living). With careful measuring, sawing, and building you'll have a construction project that stands up straight, last for years, and provides the opportunity for farm fresh eggs at your house. Having built your first piece of furniture it's time to up the ante in both designing and building your next one. You'll design your choice of chairs, cabinets, small tables, etc., by making concept drawings, scale models, working drawings, and cutting diagrams. Learn the techniques that artists use in glass kiln work. You'll be working with two dimensional glass, using the professional tools needed to safely cut and shape it as you design and lay out your art pieces, ready for the kiln. Once kiln-melted at 1300 - 1500 degrees, your pieces will be returned to you as glass pins, pendants, ornaments, plates, window art - whatever you chose to create in two dimensional glass and to discover how your layouts are transformed in the kiln.
