What does it Cost?

Studio Coyote workshops are twenty hours long and are scheduled in 2- to 4-hour sessions within ten-week terms. There are typically eight to twelve participants in each course.

Tuition is $160, based on $8 per hour. In most courses, lab fees for materials and tools bring the average course costs to about $185.

Who can afford Coyote?

...Anyone!

Coyote is open to everyone, regardless of financial situation. Through a system of reduced tuition, incremental payments, barters, and auction donations, Coyote welcomes all kids on a first come, first served basis.

It goes like this when money is short:

You determine what you can afford. That amount is divided into payments that fit your budget.

Or you barter a service to Coyote’s auction: gardening, baking, sailing, masseusing, building

Or you offer an auction donation: your handiwork, special treasure, or clever idea

Or you receive a draw from the Coyote scholarship fund, set up to provide tuition for those in need of them.

In 2002, the Seattle Arts Commission provided additional 40 full scholarships for both the winter and spring terms, helping 40 low-income kids experience Coyote for the first time.
